This ongoing series is limited to 1,701 sequentially numbered sets. Each cellophane wrapped set consists of nine cards all stamped with the same serial number. This series was started in August 2003 with the intention being to release a new set every three months. However, the second set was released six months after the first and things haven't improved much since then. After the Original Series sets were completed, the Next Generation sets have been released two or three at a time. At this rate the complete series could take several more years to complete. There may also be a problem with not enough pages in the binder to accomodate future sets from the remaining series.

 

The problem with the lack of space has been resolved, but in my view in an unsatisfactory manner - a brand new and completely different ring-binder has been produced which can house many more sets (I would have preferred another of the portfolio style binders). This was released in February 2008 with the T'Pol, Seven of Nine and Jadzia Dax sets.

After having too many sets (30) to comfortably fit into the ring binder, another one was desperately required! With a bursting ring binder on my shelf we were finally treated to a new free binder with the four Legends sets released on 19th December 2012.
