A 110-card set following on from the "Star Trek: The Original Series
40th Anniversary Series 2" set in the throwback style of the 1960's trading cards, featuring images from the 1968-69 third season of the original Star Trek. Each box includes 3 Autograph Cards. Autograph signers include William Shatner (Mirror Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (Spock), Sabrina Scharf (Miramanee in "The Paradise Syndrome"), Skip Homeier (Dr. Sevrin in "The Way To Eden"), Sheila Leighton (Luma in "Spock's Brain"), Shirley Bonne (Ruth in "Shore Leave"), and many other first-time Star Trek autograph card signers. Chase cards include: an 18 card Star Trek Tribute Set (1:12 Packs); an 18 card Portraits Set (1:8 Packs); and an 18 card TOS In Motion Lenticular Set (1:6 Packs). Collectors will be able to protect and display their set in the official Star Trek custom-designed album which comes with one 9-pocket page and a bonus promo card P3. Steve Charendoff states "…we have filled in all of the past numbers that we[re] missing from the previous set, but I will warn you that there may be one or 2 new 'missing' numbers among this new batch" - in fact there are six missing numbers. Although the packs state 5 cards per pack, some carry 6 cards and these are the packs that contain either a Tribute Card or a Portrait Card. This was necessary to fulfil the guarantee of a full base set in each box (24 packs x 5 cards = 120, subtracting 12 insert cards per box would leave just 108 cards from a 110 card base set!).
